Slayer of Incompetent, Stupid and Disappointing Minions

April 8, 2011

Holy hell. After nearly 170 wipes the bastard finally went down (and we thought Al’Akir was bad? Hah!). Not a moment too soon, after about 300 dark phases as a feral cat my brain was slowly starting to turn into sludge. To whoever designed that fight; I shall haunt you when I die.

That is all.

And down they go…

March 4, 2011

It took some wipe nights to get poor old Neffy right, but we did it :) The fight was especially exciting for me, as I was put on interrupt duty while not being hit capped… Luckily that won’t be an issue anymore in 4.1, with the change being made so that interrupts will always land regardless of hit. Yay!

And in other exciting 4.1 news:

Prowl has a new icon.

Finally!

February 22, 2011

After some very frustrating weeks of wipes we finally got Al’Akir down! It’s been a difficult time for the guild, we’ve lost a several members (including one of our raid leaders) due to this bad boy, but now we can finally breathe a sigh of relief and start working on Nefarian. We got a couple of tries in last night, and it certainly seems like a lot more fun than Al’Akir, even if the fight might be a lot harder.

The Bastion of Twilight

January 28, 2011

After a couple of wipe nights we finally managed to get Cho’gall down with 9/25 raid members standing :D It certainly wasn’t an easy kill, but we didn’t have nearly as much trouble as we did with Ascendant Council… The guild is now 10/12, and it’s sooo much fun to finally be back in the game andĀ raiding again after going through a very difficult time in life. WoW will never be as much of a priority as it used to be, now it really is “just a game”. But it’s still fun! :D

It’s been a rough couple of weeks, but we made it! Next week: hardmodes ;D

Finally!

March 13, 2010

I’ve been thinking about finishing up Loremaster forĀ  a long time, but just the thought of having to go through all the Vanilla areas to search for missed quests made me want to uninstall the game. Since it’s been so long since I leveled my main there was no chance of remembering which ones I’d actually done, so I basically just had to mount up and start running. And so I did. To my surprise it wasn’t as horrible as I had feared, it was actually quite nice to get to see the world one last time before everything changes. And after many, many hours of running around the old zones trying not to interfere too much with leveling lowbies, I am finally a Loremaster :)

In other news, our 25-man finally completed both Crimson Hall and Frostwing Halls in the same night, that 5% buff really helped ;) Unfortunately I wasn’t there for the 25-man Lich King-attempts, but we did have some decent progress on our 10-man run. Hopefully he’ll be going down soon!

Good news, everyone!

February 20, 2010

Tonight was the first raid of our super-intensive 10-man ICC-week in hopes of seeing the Lich King, and we actually managed to get down 10/12 fairly easy. The biggest surprise was downing Professor Putricide on our second attempt despite none of us having done the fight before. I’d say that pretty good news for our 25-man where we’ll start working on him next week :)

For our 10-man we still have a few more scheduled nights to work on Sindragosa and, hopefully, Lich King. At the very least I hope we’ll get to experience the encounter, actually downing him might be a bit too optimistic ;)
